Angry NHM contract workers have gone on indefinite strike due to non-fulfilment of demands in Moradabad. Health workers and Asha daughters-in-law are boycotting work and staging a sit-in at the CMO office. About 900 employees are working on contracts under NHM in the hospitals of the district. Health services in the government hospitals of the district are being severely affected due to the health workers going on strike.
NHM contract health workers had given an ultimatum to fulfil their demands by 25 November. Health workers have been on strike since Tuesday due to the non-fulfilment of their demands. Contract health workers say that they worked without any leave in the COVID call. The contract workers continued to do duty even during the weekly holidays, but the government is not accepting their demands.
