PM Modi laid the foundation stone of International Airport at Jewar in Noida today (25/11/2021). State Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia were also present on this occasion. This will be the ninth and the fifth international airport overall in Uttar Pradesh. UP is the state with the largest number of international airports in the country.
Important information to know about the case:
- PM Modi said that thousands of employment opportunities are created during the construction of the airport and to run the airport smoothly. He said that this airport will also give new employment to a large number of people of western UP. The state is leaving its mark not only nationally but also internationally.
- The Prime Minister said, The New India of the 21st century is today building one of the best modern infrastructures. Better roads, better rail networks, better airports are not only infrastructure projects but they changes the entire region, lives of people. Noida International Airport will become the Logistic Gateway of North India. This will make the entire region a strong reflection of the National Dynamics Masterplan.
- Prime Minister says, Infrastructure is not just a part of politics but a part of national policy for us. We are making sure that the projects do not get stuck, do not hang, do not go astray. We try to ensure that the infrastructure work is completed within the stipulated time.
- PM Narendra Modi wrote in his morning tweet that 25 November is an important day for the construction of infrastructure of India and Uttar Pradesh. The foundation stone of Noida International Airport will be laid at 1 pm. This project will give a big boost to commerce, connectivity, and tourism.
- This international airport will be at a distance of about 72 km from IGI Airport. Its distance from Noida will be about 40 km and it will be about the same distance from the proposed multi-model logistics hub at Dadri.
- The work of the first phase of this airport is likely to be completed by 2024, this year the Lok Sabha elections are to be held in the country. The first phase of the airport will cost more than ₹ 10,050 crores. This airport will be spread over an area of more than 1300 hectares and will be used by around 12 million passengers.
